Privacy Policy
This site is built and run by HOBZ Media (House of Biz & Company). Política de privacidad en español: próximamente. Para preguntas, escriba a vspanntony@gmail.com.
Effective date: October 23, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how House of Biz & Company ("HOBZ," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit our websites, buy from us, link a bank account to pay us, join our email list, or contact us. House of Biz & Company is a sole proprietorship based in Chicago, Illinois. HOBZ is our umbrella brand.
Our short version: we collect only what we need to sell to you, deliver what you bought, support you, and keep the records the law requires. We do not sell your personal information. We do not show ads or use advertising tracking pixels.
1. Sites this policy covers
This policy applies to the following sites (the "Sites") and to purchases made through them:
- fedprobenow.us (FedProbeNow): consumer scam-awareness guides and business-records checks.
- shop.hobzmedia.com (HOBZ Media Guides): digital PDF guides, bundles, and recommended-tool links.
- davidhernandezactor.com (English and Spanish), an actor portfolio site that HOBZ Media builds and runs.
- Any other HOBZ site that links to this policy.
Section 15 lists a few details that apply to only one site. Where a Site page says something more specific about a particular feature, that more specific notice also applies.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Purchase and contact details: your name, email address, and, if you give it to us, your phone number or billing details. For physical products, we also collect a shipping address.
- Order details for services: the business names, website addresses, listings, documents, screenshots, and notes you send us so we can complete a service you bought. Please send only what we need. Do not send Social Security numbers, bank passwords, or other people's sensitive information.
- Messages: emails and other messages you send us, and our replies.
- Email list sign-ups: your email address and, if you give it to us, your first name and topics of interest.
- Optional feedback: answers you choose to give in a survey or poll.
Information we receive from payment providers
When you pay, the payment provider sends us a confirmation that includes your name, email address, what you bought, the amount, the date, a transaction ID, and limited payment details, such as card brand and the last four digits, or the payment method used. We never receive or store your full card number, security code, or bank login credentials.
Information collected automatically
- Server and security logs: when you visit a Site, our hosting and security providers process standard technical data. This includes your IP address, browser type, device type, pages requested, referring page, and the date and time. They use it to deliver the page, keep the Site secure, and block abuse.
- Download and order links: we may record whether a download or order link was used, so we can deliver your purchase and prevent misuse.
- Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 6.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information, such as Social Security numbers, health information, precise geolocation, or biometric identifiers, through the Sites.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- process payments, deliver digital downloads, ship physical orders, and perform services you bought;
- send receipts, order updates, download links, and other transactional messages;
- answer questions, give support, and handle refunds, chargebacks, and disputes;
- send marketing email only if you sign up or otherwise agree to receive it (see Section 7);
- keep our Sites, accounts, and customers safe, and prevent fraud, abuse, and misuse of download links;
- keep business, tax, and accounting records, and meet our legal obligations;
- improve our products and Sites, using information that is aggregated or that does not identify you where we can; and
- enforce our terms, and protect our rights and the rights of others.
We do not use your information to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
4. Payment processors
Payments are handled by outside payment companies. Their own terms and privacy policies govern the information you give them:
- Stripe handles card payments, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Cash App Pay, Link, Amazon Pay, and buy-now-pay-later options such as Klarna, Affirm, and Afterpay, when they are offered at checkout. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- PayPal: see PayPal's Privacy Statement.
If you choose a buy-now-pay-later option or a wallet such as Cash App, Amazon Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Link, that provider may collect more information under its own privacy policy and terms. That can include a credit check or identity check run by the provider. We do not see the results beyond whether the payment was approved.
Which payment methods are available can vary by product, amount, and location.
5. Bank account linking (Stripe Financial Connections)
Some checkouts may let you pay by linking your bank account through Stripe Financial Connections. If you choose this option:
- Stripe, not us, collects the data. With your permission, Stripe and its data partners may access your bank account details, such as the account and routing number, plus the account balance and account ownership information.
- That data is used only to process your payment and verify your account, such as confirming the account is yours and has enough funds. We do not use it for marketing, and we do not sell it.
- We never see or store your online banking username or password. You enter those directly with Stripe or your bank.
- We may receive limited results from Stripe, such as the bank name, the last four digits of the account, and whether the account was verified.
- Stripe's handling of this data is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy. Stripe explains how you can manage or disconnect linked accounts at support.stripe.com/user/how-do-i-disconnect-my-linked-financial-account.
6. Cookies, analytics, and affiliate links
Our own cookies. Our Sites do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels, such as Meta, TikTok, or Google Ads pixels. As of the effective date, our Sites do not set analytics cookies of their own.
Essential and security technologies. Our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, may set strictly necessary cookies or run checks to protect the Sites from bots and attacks. A site may also store a small flag in your browser, for example to prevent a feedback form from being submitted twice. These are not used to track you across other sites.
Analytics. If we add website analytics later, we will use privacy-friendly analytics where practical. One example is Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies to track individual visitors. We will update this policy before or when we add analytics.
Checkout pages. When you go to a Stripe or PayPal checkout page, those companies may set their own cookies to run the checkout and prevent fraud. Their policies apply.
Embedded videos. Some pages show videos hosted by YouTube. Where we can, we use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode and load the video only after you click it. Once a video loads, Google/YouTube's privacy policy applies.
Affiliate links. Some links on our Sites are affiliate links. When you click one, the store or affiliate network may use cookies or similar tracking on its website to record that you came from us. Examples include Amazon Associates, Impact, Awin, and similar networks. That record lets them pay us a commission if you buy something. Those companies control those cookies under their own privacy policies. We usually receive only commission reports, not your name or contact details. We do not sell your personal information to affiliate partners. See our Affiliate Disclosure for more detail.
Your controls. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking cookies on third-party sites may stop affiliate credit or some checkout features from working, but it will not stop you from using our Sites.
7. Email marketing and your choice to opt out
- We send marketing emails only to people who sign up or who otherwise agree to receive them. Buying something does not automatically add you to a marketing list unless we clearly tell you so at the time and give you a way to say no.
- Every marketing email will identify us, include our postal address, and include a working unsubscribe link, as the federal CAN-SPAM Act requires.
- You can unsubscribe at any time with that link or by emailing us. We will honor your request promptly, and within 10 business days at the latest.
- After you unsubscribe, we may still send transactional or relationship messages, such as receipts, download links, refund updates, and replies to your questions.
- If we use an email service provider to send newsletters, it processes your email address on our behalf, and only for that purpose. It may use standard tools, such as open and click tracking, to show whether emails were delivered and read.
- Text messages: we do not send automated or marketing text messages. If that ever changes, we will ask for your separate, express consent first.
8. How we share information
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only:
- With service providers who help us run the business, and only as needed for the work they do for us. These include payment processors (Stripe and PayPal), hosting and security (Cloudflare and our cloud server provider), email (Google/Gmail and, if used, an email-marketing service), file delivery, and, for physical orders, shipping carriers and marketplaces.
- With selling platforms you choose to buy through. If you buy through a third-party marketplace or live-selling platform, such as Whatnot, that platform collects your information under its own policies and shares with us what we need to complete your order, such as your name and shipping address.
- For legal reasons: to comply with a law, court order, subpoena, or other legal process; to respond to lawful requests from authorities; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our customers, the public, or ourselves. This includes investigating fraud, chargebacks, and threats.
- In a business transfer: if all or part of the business is sold, merged, or transferred, customer information may be transferred as part of that deal. The buyer must handle it in a way consistent with this policy.
- With your permission or at your direction.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, state privacy laws may give you rights over your personal information. These laws include those of California (CCPA/CPRA), Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, and other states. Some of these laws may not apply to a business of our size. Even so, we offer the following to all U.S. customers, as far as we reasonably can:
- Know and access: ask what personal information we have about you and get a copy.
- Correct: ask us to fix inaccurate information.
- Delete: ask us to delete your information. We may keep what we are legally required to keep, such as tax and transaction records, or what we need to prevent fraud or handle disputes. If so, we will tell you.
- Opt out: of marketing email at any time. You can also opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising, or of profiling. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we have not done so in the past 12 months.
- Non-discrimination: we will not deny you service or charge you a different price for using these rights.
Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for that browser. We will also honor it for any account or email linked to it, if we know about that link. Because we do not sell or share personal information, no further action is needed on your part.
How to make a request. Email vspanntony@gmail.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." Tell us what you want to do and give us the email address you used with us. To protect you, we will confirm your identity, usually by matching your email address and order details, before we release or delete information. You may use an authorized agent if you give them written permission, and we may confirm that permission with you directly. We will respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we will tell you why, as the law allows. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying with "Appeal" in the subject line. We will answer within the time the law allows.
California "Shine the Light." We do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct-marketing purposes.
10. Children's privacy
Our Sites, products, and services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, as required by the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Purchases are for adults. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Illinois notices
- No biometric information. We do not collect, capture, buy, store, or use biometric identifiers or biometric information, such as fingerprints, voiceprints, face geometry scans, or retina or iris scans, as those terms are defined in the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA). If we ever plan to, we will first give you written notice and get your written consent, as BIPA requires, and we will publish a retention and destruction schedule.
- Data breach notice. If a security breach involving your personal information occurs, we will notify affected Illinois residents in the most expedient time possible and without unreasonable delay, as required by the Illinois Personal Information Protection Act (815 ILCS 530). Where that law requires, we will also notify the Illinois Attorney General. We will notify residents of other states as their laws require.
12. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy:
- Order, payment, and tax records: for as long as tax and accounting rules require. We generally plan on seven years.
- Working files for services, such as documents and screenshots you send for a check: deleted within 90 days after we deliver the result. We keep the delivered report and the order record.
- Customer emails: for as long as needed for support, refunds, disputes, and records.
- Email-list data: until you unsubscribe. After that we keep only a suppression record, so we don't email you again.
- Server and security logs: for a short period, generally no more than 30 days, unless we need them to investigate a security problem.
After that, we delete the information or make it so it no longer identifies you.
13. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards for the size and nature of our business. These include HTTPS encryption on our Sites, payment processors that meet the PCI standard, strong passwords, two-step verification on key accounts, and limiting access to the people who need it. No website, email, or internet transmission is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please don't email us sensitive information, such as full card numbers, Social Security numbers, or passwords.
14. Third-party sites and services
Our Sites link to websites and services we do not own or control. These include payment pages, affiliate merchants, video platforms, casting and industry sites, and government and news sources. This policy does not cover them. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or security of third-party sites. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before you give them information. A link is not an endorsement of everything on the linked site.
15. Site-specific details
- fedprobenow.us: For Business Verification checks, we collect only information about businesses and the materials you send us. We do not research individual people. Order details may be received by email or, if you use it, an optional online order form (Google Forms), which Google processes for us.
- shop.hobzmedia.com: We sell digital PDF guides and bundles, delivered through private download pages. The Recommended tools page contains, or may contain, affiliate links (see Section 6 and the Affiliate Disclosure).
- davidhernandezactor.com (English and Spanish): This is a portfolio site. If you email about casting or booking, we use your message to respond and may share it with David Hernandez's talent representation. The optional audience-feedback poll stores answers without your name. It uses only a browser flag to prevent duplicate submissions and sets no tracking cookies. Videos load from YouTube only when you click them.
- Live selling, auctions, and catalog sales (if offered): If we sell through live shows, auctions, or printed or online catalogs, we collect what we need to complete and ship your order and handle returns. That includes your name, shipping address, contact details, and order history. The platform's own privacy policy also applies.
16. Accuracy and limits
We try to keep this policy accurate and up to date. This policy describes how we handle personal information. It is not a contract, and it does not create rights beyond those that the law provides or that we state here. We are responsible for our own practices. We do not control how independent third parties, such as payment processors, platforms, affiliate networks, and email providers, handle information under their own policies. We have chosen these providers carefully, and you can read their policies through the links above.
17. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our business, our Sites, or the law changes. We will post the updated version with a new effective date. If we make a material change to how we use personal information we already have, we will give notice before it applies. We may do this by posting a notice on the Sites or by emailing customers. When the law requires your consent, we will ask for it.
